I am so glad to see you on this page. I am Sunil Siddhpura - a creative art practitioner, certified life coach, Reiki healer, and passionate human being. At Ocean I am on mission to share and spread knowledge of creative art to as many people as possible in order to bring permanent positive changes in their life.
I am self taught creative art practitioner who loves to try and experiment with different kind of methods like Mandala, Zen Patterns, Doodle, Illustration, Hand lettering, Typography, etc., I am also certified life coach and Reiki healer.
I use many different mediums in creative art, such as pencil, fine tip pen, charcoal, acrylics, water color and pastels. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
I love to recreate natural patterns in all of my creative art work. I call it intuitive patterns as it comes directly from my intuition and connects well to my subconscious, gives me chance to explore and express myself fully.
Files coming soon.
I am very excited to share my first blog on creative art with all of you. The topic I have chosen is - healing body and mind through art.
What is healing? Let's take one example. When we have cut or burn on any part of our body, we consult our family doctor or take some medicine according to doctor's advice. We also follow some diet instructions. After few days we will see that wounded part is restored to its original shape or form. In other words, wound or cut got healed through medicines. This was about physical healing. There are also medicines available to get some temporary relief from mental stress and anxiety.
Why we need to heal body and mind and How art can help? First of all, let me tell you that any form of art - performing arts or fine arts can help to heal body and mind. We become ill or sick due to many reasons. Today stress and anxiety is one of the reasons. Many people go for movie, shopping, vacation, outing to get some relief from stress, anxiety or worries. Many got addicted to smoking or some other addiction those are not good for health and many a times options like short trips or vacations may not be viable of workable. All these or some other options give temporary relief. Many people also try meditation or participate in meditation camp but find difficult to continue or practice. These days we are all connected with each other through social media and even we greet each other or send best wishes through messages only so verbal communication is also minimum. Let us see how fine arts like drawing, colouring, doodling, scribbling, pattern making can help to heal body and mind.
When you sit and take a pen and paper to make small doodles or scribble or patterns or say for colouring, you start to connect with your inner self. First time you find that you are sitting with yourself. Your breathing becomes slow. You let your hands to move here and there freely. You allow yourself to release suppressed emotions on paper. Sooner you enter in a state of meditation, you feel calm and composed and ultimately feel better. Don't judge your work as it is not for that purpose. You just have to enjoy the entire process and let magic happen.
This is so simple yet very effective technique. You don't require fancy tools and art materials. What you need is just a pen/pencil and paper and a quiet place if possible. Artistic background is absolutely not required. You can practice for whatever time available with you. No any fixed rules are there to learn and practice this art form.
Whatever I have written is not hypothetical but based on my personal experience and I will be more than happy to connect with interested one to share more details on this. I welcome my readers to give comments.
See you soon with another topic....
